Tailoring hierarchical ZSM-5 with water-soluble polymers templates for BTX production in methanol-to-aromatics.

Hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites were synthesized by one-pot methods utilizing water-soluble polymers-polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polyethylene glycol (PEG)-and were compared with a desilicated (DS/ZC) typical microporous ZSM-5 (ZC). Thorough evaluation utilizing XRD, FT-IR, NH3 physisorption, SEM and TEM, ICP-OES, NH3-TPD, and TGA demonstrated that PVP-templated ZSM-5 (PVP/ZC) displayed distinct mesoporosity while maintaining its inherent microporous structure, resulting in a balanced allocation of weak and strong acid sites. All catalysts were assessed in the methanol-to-aromatics (MTA) reactio

Chi2 weighted ensemble: A multi-layer ensemble approach for skin lesion classification using a novel framework - optimized RegNet synergy with Attention-Triplet.

Skin lesions, including various abnormalities and potentially fatal skin cancers, require early detection for effective treatment. However, current methods often struggle to identify the precise areas responsible for these abnormalities after model dominance dispersion. To address this, we propose a novel Transfer Learning-based framework that integrates Optimized RegNet Synergy architectures and Attention-Triplet mechanisms-comprising channel attention, squeeze-excitation attention, and soft attention-combined with an advanced Ensemble Learning strategy. A significant gap in current research

The Urban-Rural Divide in Neurocritical Care in Low-Income and Middle-Income Countries.

The term "urban-rural divide" encompasses several dimensions and has remained an important concern for any country. The economic disparity; lack of infrastructure; dearth of medical specialists; limited opportunities to education, training, and health care; lower level of sanitation; and isolating effect of geographical location deepens this gap, especially in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). This article gives an overview of the rural-urban differences in terms of facilities related to neurocritical care (NCC) in LMICs. Issues related to common clinical conditions such as strok

A Two-Stage Multi-Agent EV Charging Coordination Scheme for Maximizing Grid Performance and Customer Satisfaction.

Advancements in technology and awareness of energy conservation and environmental protection have increased the adoption rate of electric vehicles (EVs). The rapidly increasing adoption of EVs may affect grid operation adversely. However, the increased integration of EVs, if managed appropriately, can positively impact the performance of the electrical network in terms of power losses, voltage deviations and transformer overloads. This paper presents a two-stage multi-agent-based scheme for the coordinated charging scheduling of EVs. The first stage uses particle swarm optimization (PSO) at th

Liver fat scores do not reflect interventional changes in liver fat content induced by high-protein diets.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is common in Metabolic Syndrome and type 2 diabetes (T2DM), driven by energy imbalance, saturated fats and simple carbohydrates. NAFLD requires screening and monitoring for late complications. Liver fat indices may predict NAFLD avoiding expensive or invasive gold-standard methods, but they are poorly validated for use in interventional settings. Recent data indicate a particular insensitivity to weight-independent liver fat reduction. We evaluated 31 T2DM patients, completing a randomized intervention study on isocaloric high-protein diets. We assesse

Predictors of cardiovascular outcome and rehospitalization in elderly patients with heart failure.

BACKGROUND: Heart failure (HF) is a major public health problem and represents the only cardiac disease continuing to increase in prevalence, in particular among elderly patients. The frequent rehospitalizations have a negative impact on quality of life of patients with HF, constituting a substantial cost for patients and the health system. The aim of this review was to look into biochemical, echocardiographic and socioeconomical parameters as predictors of clinical outcomes and rehospitalizations. METHODS: This narrative review is based on the material searched for and obtained via PubMed fr

DYSLIPIDEMIA IN MEXICO, A CALL FOR ACTION.

The purpose of this manuscript is to highlight the peculiarities of the Mexican population regarding the clinical expression, genetics, and treatment of lipid disorders. Furthermore, it is a call for action to address the existing gaps in care and research of dyslipidemias. The Mexican Mestizos are highly susceptible to metabolic disorders (i.e., low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations, hypertriglyceridemia, abdominal obesity, and type 2 diabetes); these conditions are associated with ethnic-specific genetic variants. On the other hand, despite the high prevalence of dyslipidem

[Re-evaluation of immunomodulator treatments for recurrent abortions].

Immunotherapy of spontaneous recurrent abortion is still a matter of controversy. Since 1985, 117 patients were treated in our center. Transfusions of paternal leucocytes (PL) were given to 56 patients and intravenous immunoglobulins (i.v.Ig) to 61 patients. The allocation of the two treatments was not randomised. Respectively 74% and 71% normal pregnancies were achieved. In two cases treated by paternal leucocytes, the appearance of anti-erythrocytes alloantibodies (anti c and anti Jkb + C) was noted. Two patients receiving i.v.Ig had a transient allergic reaction (urticaria). In the five pat

Bed Rest versus Tocolytic Therapy in Threatened Preterm Labour Stratified by Cervical Length: A Randomised Controlled Trial.

AIM: Management of threatened preterm labour (TPL) frequently involves tocolytic drug administration, which may lead to unnecessary interventions and maternal complications, especially in women at low risk of imminent preterm birth. Cervical length measurement is a reliable method for assessing preterm birth risk and guiding appropriate management. However, tocolytic drugs and antenatal corticosteroids are often overused in women with adequate cervical length. METHODS: This randomised controlled trial compared the effectiveness of bed rest versus tocolytic therapy in women with threatened pre

Portuguese validation of the Italian BASIQ quality of life assessment battery and implications for health resource consumption.

INTRODUCTION: Intellectual Disability (ID) is characterized by significant limitations in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior. Quality of Life (QoL) is increasingly important in evaluating health interventions and support programs, helping improve resource allocation. In the context of ID, Generic QoL is considered a more valuable measure than Health-Related QoL. OBJECTIVES: This study has two main goals: a) to adapt and validate the Italian BASIQ instrument for assessing QoL in adults with ID for European Portuguese, and b) to analyse the relationship between QoL and health resour

Factors that support public health infrastructure recovery in Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands after Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

This paper describes the factors that support recovery of public health infrastructure (PHI), including conditions that facilitated or hindered recovery in United States (US) territories impacted by hurricanes Irma and Maria. A deductive approach was used to categorize data from five organizations that received crisis hurricane recovery (CHR) funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.* Spending was grouped into five infrastructure gaps: (1) human resources, (2) informatic upgrades, (3) equipment, (4) minor repairs, and (5) preventive maintenance.
