A case of trichocephaliasis in a 70-year-old male is described. The original diagnosis, based on radiological and endoscopic findings, was of a sessile polyp of the colon. Only when a fragment of the supposed polyp was removed at biopsy and examined histologically was it revealed as a single male specimen of whipworm.

The Nd-YAG-laser is being used since ten years in gastroenterological endoscopy with good success. It can be used for treatment of bleeding lesions or lesions which potentially could bleed, for treatment of benign and malignant tumors, treatment of non-neoplastic stenoses and pathological changes in the region of the papilla. Own results with this treatment in 1033 patients are reported, demonstrating high efficacy of this method by improving quality of life and decreasing the number of surgical interventions necessary and also decreasing hospital lethality.

The overall frequency and types of complications associated with diagnostic coloscopy and coloscopic polypectomy are unknown. A statewide survey of coloscopists was conducted to determine the morbidity and mortality associated with coloscopy. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical characteristic, diagnosis and treatment of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP).
METHODS: According to family history of the proband, we surveyed the pedigree and retrospectively analyzed the clinical characteristics of 10 FAP patients in 3 generations of the family.
RESULT: Among all 10 cases, 3 died of colorectal cancer including two of whom had history of intestinal obstruction.Seven people of the third generation were all diagnosed as FAP. Among them, only 2 patients had clinical symptoms. Colonoscopy was done in all 7 patients before 35 years old.

OBJECTIVES: Osteomas are common benign tumors of the paranasal sinuses. The origin of these lesions is uncertain. Although most are asymptomatic, symptoms can include headaches, facial pain, rhinorrhea, and sinusitis. Osteomas are also seen as part of Gardner's syndrome, an autosomal dominant disease characterized by intestinal polyposis, osteomas, and cutaneous and soft tissue tumors. In affected individuals, the risk of developing colon cancer approaches 100%. On average, osteomas are detected 17 years before colon polyps appear.

Twenty-six adults with Streptococcus bovis endocarditis and ten with bacteremia alone were studied to determine possible portals of entry.
