OBJECTIVES: To identify the prevalence of Borzoi chorioretinopathy in western Canada, characterize lesions with fluorescein angiography, determine if lesions were progressive, clarify the association of progressive retinal atrophy and investigate the etiology.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Serial ophthalmic examination, fundus photography, electroretinography, and fluorescein angiography were used to evaluate Borzoi dogs with lesions of Borzoi chorioretinopathy. Pedigree analysis and test breeding of two affected dogs were completed to determine the heritability of Borzoi chorioretinopathy.

To determine efficacy of mydriatic-digital images (MDI) when screening retinal complications in people living with HIV, in this study, a consecutive series of 79 people living with HIV (PLHIV) were evaluated. Two series of MDI were taken: - macula and optic nerve - nine gaze fields, which findings were compared with those obtained by a retina specialist. Wells' syndrome, also called eosinophilic cellulitis, is a rare eosinophilic dermatosis characterized by an unspecific inflammatory erythematous eruption often associated with systemic symptoms. Considering the etiological mechanism of SD, including dermal network ruptures and alignment to mechanical stretch, structural directionality or anisotropy could be expected. Non-invasive objective methods for measuring the anisotropy of SD have not been suggested yet.
