In order to evaluate the reliability of thoraco-mediastinal CT in the preoperative evaluation of primary lung cancer, regarding "N" (lymph nodes) parameter, we compared CT data with those obtained at histopathology of mediastinal lymph nodes. Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a very aggressive tumor with poor prognosis. Unlike other solid malignancies, the aim of surgery for MPM is cytoreductive rather than radical. Two cases of pulmonary artery angiosarcomas are reported. Pulmonary artery tumor was diagnosed during exploratory thoracotomy in the first case. It was suspected on magnetic resonance imaging and confirmed by surgery in the second case.
