The authors report about one female patient with a liposarcoma of the right infratemporal fossa. Such tumors are rare, making up 10 to 12% of all soft-tissue sarcomas. Their occurrence in a cervical site is rare, unlike that in the inguinal region, the retroperitoneum or the lower limbs. Their diagnosis is mainly established by the histopathological study. OBJECTIVE: Bone cancer is a very serious disorder that can be fatal for many people. A reliable detection and classification system is required for early-stage bone cancer diagnosis. Traditional manual approaches are time-consuming and need specific skills, thus the creation of an automated system for detecting and classifying malignant and healthy bone tissue is critical. Cancerous bone tissue often has a different texture than healthy tissue in the affected location. Despite initially using Support Vector Machine and Edge Detection methods to improve outcomes, we only reached 0.92% accuracy.

Primary malignant melanoma arising from the Eustachian tube is extremely rare. Herein, we reported a case of a 50-year-old woman with right-sided aural fullness. On fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scans, it presented as mild soft tissue thickening of the right nasopharynx with shallowing of the Rosenmüller fossa and avid 18F-FDG uptake with a maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of 10.59. Postoperative pathology confirmed malignant melanoma of the right torus tubarius.

We present a 42 year old man, who was admitted in the Urology Department with symptoms of unilateral, painless, hard and firm slow-growing mass of the left scrotum for 4 months. Pelvic computed tomography (CT) scan showed a 8 cm3 mass lesion in the left hemiscrotum. Left radical orchiectomy and wide excision were performed and a yellowish soft tissue mass measuring closely attached to the spermatic cord was resected during surgery. Histopathologic evaluation revealed a tumor mass composed of well-differentiated liposarcoma.

A thymolipoma is a slow-growing, anterior mediastinal tumor, rare in childhood. The authors present a report of a 4-year-old girl with persistent right thoracic hypotransparency on the chest radiograph. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed an anterior, well-limited, mediastinal mass of heterogeneous density, with lipomatous and soft tissue density areas. The role of uniplanar osteotomy in correction of multiplanar deformity in hallux valgus is a developing and promising concept. Careful consideration should be given to the literature when considering the concept of preexisting pronation of the metatarsal. Recent weight-bearing computed tomography studies contradict the existing literature and state that there is little or no rotation of the metatarsal; therefore, a multiplanar osteotomy should aim to correct the rotation caused by soft tissue imbalance at the tarsometatarsal and metatarsophalangeal joints rather than in the metatarsal itself.

A 67-year-old woman with a history of uterine body cancer was admitted because of a nodular shadow in the right lower lobe on chest computed tomography. We planned thoracoscopic resection for diagnosis. Bronchial atresia (BA) is characterized by a mucus-filled bronchocele in a blind-ending segmental or lobar bronchus with hyperinflation of the obstructed segment of the lung. We describe a neonate who presented on his 9(th) day of life with respiratory distress. Chest computed tomography showed a soft tissue density involving the right middle lobe (RML). RML lobectomy confirmed the diagnosis of BA. Cytomegalovirus was detected by polymerase chain reaction in blood, urine, and tracheal aspirates which may provide further insight into the pathogenesis of BA.

Pulmonary sparganosis mansoni is rare in humans and bronchial sparganosis mansoni has not been reported. We reported a patient with a soft-tissue mass in the right hilum area on a chest computed tomography (CT) scan that was suspected of being lung cancer. Bronchoscopy identified sparganum larvae. Bronchial sparganosis mansoni accompanied by abnormal hyperplasia was diagnosed by histopathology. We introduced our experience and reviewed the clinical characteristics of three pulmonary sparganosis mansoni cases and three pleural cavity sparganosis mansoni cases that have been reported.

A 47-year-old man was admitted to our hospital for septic fever. Multidetector computed tomography showed a pulmonary cavitated consolidation that was partially filled by low-density material and an interrupted rim of soft tissue in adjacent mediastinum, lining an inhomogeneous fat density area. Lung consolidation presented a bronchogram fluid sign with a -40 Hounsfield unit density value, which indicated a fatty bronchogram. Mediastinal cystic teratoma rupture in the lung was derived from a bacterial infection, with the lipoid material pouring into the lung and its drainage bronchus.

Calcified aorta with acute iatrogenic aortic dissection is a potential but rarely reported complication of subclavian or innominate artery intervention. We report a patient who developed aortic dissection during stenting for left subclavian artery. A newly developed "calcium sign," signifying displacement of the intimal calcification from the outer soft-tissue margin and which is traditionally recognized on chest radiograph, was detected by real-time fluoroscopy and served as the diagnostic clue. Type B aortic dissection was further confirmed by chest computed tomography.
