PURPOSE: This study was performed to describe the clinicopathologic features of a group of patients with posttraumatic unilateral focal choroidal granulomatous inflammation.
METHODS: Enucleated eyes with focal choroidal granulomatous inflammation without clinical signs of contralateral ocular inflammation were identified. Clinical and pathologic features were recorded.

PURPOSE: To review the presentation and course of choroidal blastomycosis, a rare chorioretinal mycotic infection, which results from disseminated blastomycosis.
METHODS: Two cases of disseminated blastomycosis with ocular infection limited to the choroid are presented. Each patient was diagnosed through biopsy of skin lesions demonstrating the characteristic histologic features and the budding yeast.

Vitreous haemorrhage is an unusual presenting feature of malignant melanoma of the choroid. We describe three cases in which this occurred. The three tumours shared a number of common features: all were located in the peripheral choroid, were of a similar size and had a small herniation of tumour tissue through Bruch's membrane. We believe that vascular congestion caused by constriction of the tumour vasculature at the site of herniation is the most probable cause for the haemorrhage in these cases. We review the relevant literature and discuss some of the commoner differential diagnoses.

Ten cases of choroidal melanoma were treated with Argon and/or Krypton laser photocoagulation in this retrospective study. Each patient received an average of 9.6 laser treatment sessions. Three female and seven male patients were treated and followed for an average of 69.9 months. Clinical regression was observed in seven cases (70%). The clinical differentiation between multifocal choroiditis and panuveitis (MCP) and the presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome (POHS) can be difficult. Each condition is associated with peripapillary atrophy, chorioretinal spots, and subretinal neovascularization. Peripheral chorioretinal streaks have been described as the "fourth sign" of POHS. Seventeen eyes with retinal detachment secondary to retinal breaks in the colobomatous area were managed by vitrectomy procedures. Endodrainage was done through the break in the colobomatous area, with simultaneous fluid-air exchange. Microdissection of 100 hemispheres from human cadavers were performed in order to study the anatomic characteristics of the anterior choroidal artery (AChA). One AChA per hemisphere was found. Choroidal neovascularization is quite frequent in degenerative myopia. If the neovascularization is near the center, a krypton laser photocoagulation can be effected. If they reach the center, no photocoagulation should be effected. We report here our results in the treatment by krypton laser and describe a simple technic for the determination of the exact position of the foveola, that can be displaced in degenerative myopia.

Over the past 15 years 140 patients with choroidal melanoma have been treated by local surgical resection of the tumour. The method appears worth considering for tumours up to 15 mm in diameter not involving more than one-third of the ciliary body. Sixty percent of patients retained useful vision and 25% good vision. In a 34-year-old black man with pulmonary tuberculosis, a rapidly enlarging choroidal tuberculoma progressed to larger size, despite appropriate systemic anti-tuberculous therapy. The eye harboring the tuberculoma became blind and painful, and was subsequently enucleated. Conventional staining of tissue sections revealed a choroidal granuloma without evidence of organisms, but tubercle bacilli were demonstrated by fluorescence microscopy.
