PURPOSE: To describe the clinical and histopathologic finding of very limited ophthalmic Wegener granulomatosis (WG).
METHODS: Thirteen patients with scleritis, orbitopathy, episcleritis, and panuveitis were studied. They presented without evidence of lung or kidney disease, though eight had sinus involvement. We reviewed the biopsies for histopathologic findings consistent with WG, and tested for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA).

OBJECTIVE: To report the incidence of dacryoadenitis as a symptom associated with Acanthamoeba keratitis.
METHODS: We investigated all cases of Acanthamoeba keratitis (20 patients and 21 eyes) diagnosed and treated at Tokyo Dental College, Ichikawa General Hospital, Ichikawa, Japan, between May 1, 1994, and November 30, 2005. We recorded the incidence of dacryoadenitis diagnosed using clinical signs of lacrimal gland swelling and pain on pressure, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and histopathologic analysis.

Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS) is a rare form of vasculitis involving small-to medium-sized blood vessels. Although osteopoikilosis is generally considered an accidental finding, several developmental dysplasias coexisting with this disorder have been reported. However, all authors have mentioned only one coexisting finding, and most of them are case reports. We report a family in whom various members had osteopoikilosis with 5 different associated lesions. We suggest that osteopoikilosis is a bone manifestation of a generalized fibroproliferative or stenosing disease.

Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by the infiltration of one or more organs with IgG4-positive plasma cells resulting in inflammatory lesions and fibrosis. BACKGROUND: To further clarify the clinico-epidemiological features of autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) in Japan, we conducted the fourth nationwide epidemiological survey.
METHODS: This study consisted of two stage surveys; the number of AIP patients was estimated by the first survey and their clinical features were assessed by the second survey. We surveyed the AIP patients who had visited hospitals in 2016.

PURPOSE: To determine the causes of lacrimal gland inflammation based on histopathology and systemic evaluation.
METHODS: This is a retrospective case series study. From the University of British Columbia Orbit Clinic between January 1976 and December 2008, we reviewed the medical records of 60 patients who presented with inflammatory features of the lacrimal gland (i.e., erythema, edema, or tenderness) in which the diagnoses were not possible clinically and on imaging alone. As was our routine practice, all these patients underwent lacrimal gland biopsy before starting any treatment.

Investigations were carried out on 102 consecutive medicolegal post-mortem subjects to identify signs of focal adenitis in labial, submandibular, and lacrimal glands. There were 19 subjects (18.6%) with focus scores exceeding 1 in one or two of the types of glands. Among the 19, five had had a disease which is generally associated with Sjögren's syndrome or is autoimmune in nature.
