We report a patient who was quadriplegic and mute, but retained consciousness and communicated by eye movements and blinks. EEG and SEPs were normal. BAEPs showed slight prolongation of latencies for waves IV and V. MRI showed bilateral infarcts only in the middle and lateral portions of the cerebral peduncles.

Eye-movement recordings were used to analyze ophthalmoplegia and other eye-movement abnormalities in three patients. To investigate the effects of whole body vibration on the central nervous system, rats were exposed to various whole body vibrations and examined for changes in the levels of norepinephrine (NE) in whole brain or regions of the brain. Necropsy findings are reported for a case of Joubert syndrome (familiar aplasia of cerebellar vermis with episodic hyperpnea, abnormal eye-movements, ataxia and retardation). The structural organization of the 'callosal' OBg was studied in Nissl and Weil stained sections of two human brains completely lacking in the corpus callosum.
