Immunohistochemistry for mismatch repair (MMR) proteins is important for evaluating the molecular background of MMR-deficient tumors, including those with Lynch syndrome (LS). BACKGROUND: Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease caused by different Leishmania species. L. infantum is found in the Mediterranean area. It usually causes visceral or cutaneous leishmaniasis, but rarely mucosal leishmaniasis (ML).
METHODS: A 62-year-old man with metastatic non-small-cell lung carcinoma visited the outpatient clinic because of a painful and swollen tongue. Initially, oral candidiasis was suspected and patient was unsuccessfully treated accordingly. Subsequently, a biopsy from the tongue was taken.

In this paper, we present a sequential nonuniform procedure, an inference method which combines feature selection based on the Kullback information gain and a step-wise classification procedure to produce a reliable, interpretable, and robust model. We applied the model to an ovarian tumor data set to distinguish between malignant and benign tumors.
