BACKGROUND: The mediastinum is the space that lies between the two pleural cavities containing many vital structures in it. When tumors or cysts arise in the mediastinum they can be either asymptomatic or present as space occupying lesions causing symptoms and signs by their effect on the neighboring organs. Though mediastinal tumors are routinely treated at the study center, there are no studies in Ethiopia concerning the patterns, and modes of treatments of Mediastinal space occupying lesions.
