In this study, zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) was loaded onto gelatin nanoparticles functionalized with polyelectrolytes (polystyrene sulfonate/polyallylamine hydrochloride) by layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly. We have directly observed reversal of the polarity of charged surfaces in water upon the addition of trivalent and quadrivalent ions using atomic force microscopy. The bulk concentration of multivalent ions at which charge inversion reversibly occurs depends only very weakly on the chemical composition, surface structure, size, and lipophilicity of the ions, but is very sensitive to their valence. These results support the theoretical proposal that spatial correlations between ions are the driving mechanism behind charge inversion.

A 77-year-old woman who had colon cancer surgery 2 years ago underwent 68 Ga-DOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT imaging. The scan revealed nodules in liver segment II and pancreas tail, both demonstrating intense FAPI uptake. Postoperative pathology confirmed that the liver tumor was consistent with metastatic colorectal cancer, whereas the pancreatic tail nodule consisted of interlobular fibrous tissue hyperplasia with collagenous degeneration.

A 6-year-old boy with neuroblastoma underwent a 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT scan to assess his therapeutic response. The results revealed significant DOTATATE uptake in the right mandible ramus compared with previous scans, indicating potential disease progression. In contrast, 123I-MIBG SPECT/CT imaging demonstrated the resolution of this lesion when compared with earlier MIBG images. This case highlights the possibility of pseudoprogression on 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT during the repair process of bone metastatic lesions in neuroblastoma.

We report a case of a patient with metastatic prostate cancer receiving first-line endocrine therapy. Clinical symptoms, PSA level, and CT confirmed the significant progression of his bone metastatic lesions. In comparison to images at baseline, follow-up bone scan incorrectly showed remission of the bone lesions, whereas follow-up 68 Ga-DOTA-IBA correctly showed disease progression.

A 53-year-old woman presented with signs of Cushing syndrome with challenges in diagnosis and localization. A novel somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-targeted PET/CT with 68 Ga-DOTA-LM3, an SSTR antagonist, revealed a suspicious focal finding in the pancreatic head, proven to be ectopic Cushing syndrome after surgical resection. This interesting image clearly shows the potential of PET imaging with SSTR antagonists as 68 Ga-DOTA-LM3 in the diagnosis of ectopic Cushing syndrome.

This study examined the profile of patients and the impact of diet on the risk of brushite stone formation under controlled, standardized conditions.
