This is a retrospective epidemiological study. The objective is to determine the epidemiological characteristics including the patient demographics, etiological factors, duration of symptoms, treatment modalities applied and clinical outcome of the treatment in reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD). Medical records of the 168 patients managed in two tertiary hospitals with the diagnosis of RSD that was made according to both IASP criteria and three-phase bone scan were reviewed. INTRODUCTION: The vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) is an important part of the neurological examination of the patient with coma when determining brainstem function. VOR is tested via the oculocephalic reflex (OCR) and the oculovestibular reflex (OVR), or cold calorics. It has been noted that sedative medications, such as opioids and benzodiazepines, can diminish or abolish the VOR.

A 44-year-old female with gabapentin-responsive supraorbital neuralgia is presented. She had pre- and post-treatment nociceptive-specific blink reflexes carried out which tracked the good clinical outcome from treatment. The results of the electrophysiological testing imply some central component to the pathophysiology of supra-orbital neuralgia.

Electrolaryngeography was used to study the latencies of the thoracolaryngeal adductor reflex in Thoroughbred horses with and without recurrent laryngeal neuropathy (RLN). Complex regional pain syndrome, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, regional, transient and migratory osteoporosis, are known as a spectrum of medical conditions that present with pain, edema, erythema, localized osteoporosis and sometimes sympathetic dysfunction. Many factors which are present in these conditions, such as clinical presentation, radiologic findings and a variety of still unclear physiopathologic mechanisms are correlated. We propose that all these conditions are different periods of the same pathology.

We report a case of an infantile hemiplegia seizure syndrome (IHSS) that presented with intractable reflex audiogenic startle epilepsy which in itself is an uncommon form of seizure disorder.
