The 3 year study included 469 children with flat feet in preschool and school age from a section of the town of Lodz. In 2 separate age groups the influence of exercises and/or hindfoot supinating inserts on the deformity regression has been assessed. The results were being compared at every stage of the study with the deformity evaluations in control group of not treated children. The best results have been recorded in children doing exercises and wearing inserts--in 50 percent the deformity retreated. An asymptomatic abscessed maxillary premolar, which had undergone previous endodontic treatment, was retreated. The initial attempt to remove the silver cone seal was unsuccessful. Early the next morning, the patient appeared with a severe cellulitis exacerbation. The silver cone was now loose: a lateral "blowout." We report a 60-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis complicated by pericarditis. Treatment with tocilizumab improved her polyarthritis, … IL-6 levels in rheumatoid pericarditis. No further exacerbation of pericarditis was observed after retreatment with tocilizumab. This case has important implications in that it suggests that the prominently elevated IL-6 level in pericardial fluid during tocilizumab treatment may be an indicator of its efficacy for pericarditis.

A 50 year-old man, a United States resident, presented in Texas with a violaceous non-ulcerating lesion, involving the entire lower eyelid. The patient had traveled to a jungle area of Belize several hours drive from the capital city. Leishmania mexicana was isolated. The lesion only partially resolved after an initial course of sodium stibogluconate, requiring retreatment. At two years of follow-up, there was no relapse. BACKGROUND: We report our experience in removing giant papillae in cases with severe vernal keratoconjunctivitis using CO2 laser.
METHODS: Five cases with conjunctival giant papillae due to severe vernal keratoconjunctivitis were treated with CO2 laser. All cases were resistant to conventional treatment. In 4 eyes, there was also an associated corneal shield ulcer.
RESULTS: In all 5 cases the procedure was uneventful. Retreatment was performed in only 2 cases because of recurrence of the papillae. No intra- or postoperative complications were observed.

PURPOSE: To report successful treatment of a case of ocular leishmaniasis with combined stibogluconate and allupurinol.
METHOD: A 32-year-o … amuscular, was initiated with some improvement. However recurrence of the lesion occurred. Systemic retreatment with combined stibogluconate and allupurinol led to complete healing of the lesion.
CONCLUSION: Ocular leishmaniasis is a rare and potentially blinding disorder. Combined stibogluconate and allupurinol may be an effective therapy in such cases.

Between November 14, 1988 and August 1, 1993, 18,825 ureteral calculi were treated in the United States using 25 different mobile and 2 fixed base Siemens Lithostar lithotriptors. Lithotripsy was performed by 1,012 urologists using the modified Puigvert technique. The overall stone-free rate was 83.8% with a retreatment rate of 10.8%. A survey was completed to determine and to evaluate the reason for endodontic treatment performed by endodontic residents at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland at Baltimore. Neurological, immune-related adverse events (n-irAE) due to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) represent a growing clinical problem in neuro-oncology practice. Although rare, the frequency of n-irAEs will increase as ICI use becomes more common.
