We describe a liquid chromatographic screening procedure for the detection of stimulant laxatives in urine. A 2-ml urine sample was incubated with 500 U of beta-glucuronidase for 2 h at 60 degrees C. The sample was acidified with sodium acetate (pH 5.0) and extracted with 5 ml of an isopropanol-chloroform (1:9) mixture. The organic layer was cleaned up further by washing with 5 ml disodium hydrogen-phosphate (pH 7.5) before being transferred to a conical tube and evaporated to dryness. Antibodies specific to chlorpromazine N-oxide (CPZNO) were produced in rabbits immunized with a hapten-bovine serum albumin conjugate, which was prepared by linking the 7-position of the phenothiazine ring of the metabolite to the protein via a 4-carbon bridge. An extraction radioimmunoassay (RIA) was developed using this antiserum and shown to have adequate sensitivity and specificity for determination of plasma concentrations of CPZNO in the presence of chlorpromazine (CPZ) and its major metabolites. This rapid, accurate "high-performance" liquid-chromatographic procedure is intended for measuring indomethacin in serum from neonates who are receiving indomethacin for symptomatic patent ductus arteriosus. A reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed to determine the sites of reaction and the product distribution of modified salmon sperm DNA. The DNA was reacted with methyl methanesulfonate in neutral solution, and then degraded into deoxyribonucleosides by snake venom phosphodiesterase and alkaline phosphatase. The structural features and Ca2+-binding properties of native and N-chlorosuccinimide-oxidized modulator protein were compared by circular dichroism. Selective synthesis of 1- and 2-acyl-, alkoxycarbonyl-, and carbamoylindazoles are described. Spectroscopic data which were the basis for structural assignments are presented. These compounds, particularly methyl 2H-indazole-2-carboxylate and N-heptyl-N-methyl-2H-indazole-2-carboxamide, lack the spectrum of anthelmintic activity of the benzimidazole and benzotriazole anthelmintics to which they are structurally related.

Herein we report on a facile and green strategy for continuous production of chitosan-zinc oxide fibers and then compare their photodegradation performance against three organic dyes (i.e., methylene blue (MB), methyl orange (MO) and Rhodamine B, respectively) under different lights.
