OBJECTIVE: To optimize melanocyte/keratinocyte co-cultivation and to evaluate the effectiveness of autologous cultured epidermal grafts in the surgical treatment of stable vitiligo.
DESIGN: After optimization of melanocyte/keratinocyte cultures, achromic lesions were disepithelialized by means of programmed diathermosurgery (Timedsurgery) and covered with autologous epidermal grafts prepared from secondary cultures. Melanocyte content was evaluated by dopa reaction. The percentage of repigmentation was calculated using a semiautomatic image analysis system.

Isolated ACL reconstructions were performed in 138 patients between 1994 and 1998. Patellar bone-patellar tendon-bone, and hamstring tendon autografts were used in 88 patients, and allografts were used in 50 patients. Fifty-three patients undergoing autologous bone marrow transplantation received antimicrobial prophylaxis with ciprofloxacin with or without erythromycin and low dose intravenous amphotericin B. Eight patients remained afebrile throughout the neutropenic period. All other patients had one or more febrile episodes. The median time to fever after the onset of neutropenia was 7 days. In 10 dogs, the left lung was removed and a closed stump of bronchus, comprising the distal main and lobar bronchi, was reanastomosed to the main bronchus. Experience of performance of a pulmonary autograft operation (PAO, оperation of Ross) was analyzed, results were estimated, the ways of overcoming a procedure conduction problems were determined. Remote result was investigated in 151 patients: the aortal valve stenosis was diagnosed in 99 (65.6%) patients, insufficiency - in 42 (27.8%), combined aortal valve failure - in 10 (6.6%). Hospital lethality have constituted 3.6%, and a general one – 7.9%. Reoperations were performed in 52 patients.
