Elevation of serum angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) has been reported to occur in 25 p. 100 of diabetic patients. This finding would decrease the specificity of increased ACE level in sarcoidosis. We measured serum ACE in 90 diabetic patients with simultaneous analysis of various parameters including those appreciating the degree of metabolic control. Serum ACE values, observed in diabetics are not different from values measured in controls, respectively 22,3 +/- 6,4 and 21,1 +/- 6,7 U/ml (means +/- SD). Prolidase deficiency is an autosomal recessive disease that causes impaired collagen degradation. Altered collagen homeostasis results in the intracellular accumulation of imidodipeptides, which contain proline and hydroxyproline. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a novel coronavirus that causes an acute respiratory tract infection known as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). SARS-CoV-2 enters cells by binding the ACE2 receptor and coreceptors notably TMPRSS2 or Cathepsin L. Severe COVID-19 infection can lead to acute lung injury. PURPOSE: We aimed to evaluate oxidative stress in patients with peripheral vertigo by measuring serum prolidase, malondialdehyde (MDA) and catalase levels.
METHODS: A total of 30 patients (age: 60 <) with peripheral vertigo and 30 healthy subjects were recruited. Blood samples were collected from both groups and serum prolidase levels were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MDA and catalase levels were measured by the spectrophotometric method.
RESULTS: The most common cause of vertigo was BPPV (53.3%), followed by Ménière's disease (16.6%), vestibular neuritis (13.3%)

We present a pulmonary sarcoidosis patient with specific elevation of serum Krebs von den lungen-6 (KL-6) levels, who was successfully treated with inhaled corticosteroids.
