As free stereocilia in semen samples from infertile men could be related to a subclinical chronic infection of the seminal tract, we carried out a retrospective analysis of 14 files of infertile men with stereocilia in semen (group 1) and in two control groups: 30 infertile men from the same study population (group 2) and 40 fertile sperm donors (group 3). Tuberculous epididymitis is uncommonly encountered and is a very rare complication of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) intravesical therapy for the treatment of bladder urothelial cancer. With the increased use of BCG, it is conceivable that practicing urologists will see more patients presenting with this infection. Herein, we describe an unusual presentation of tuberculous epididymitis treated successfully in a conservative fashion with anti-tuberculotic medications and describe current diagnostic, as well as medical and surgical management strategies.

Paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare malignancy arising from the mesenchymal tissues of the spermatic cord, epididymis, testis, and testicular tunica, and accounts for approximately 7% of all rhabdomyosarcomas. It often occurs in children but is known to have a better prognosis than disease at other urogenital sites. Patients typically present with painless unilateral scrotal swelling like a solid testicular tumor. However, we report an unusual case of delayed diagnosis of paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma accompanied by epididymitis manifesting an painful scrotal swelling.

Intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is widely used as an adjuvant therapy in the treatment of superficial bladder cancer. The results of treating 4 patients with tuberculous epididymitis by rifampicin injection into the tunica vaginalis sac were compared with the results in another 4 patients treated with the common oral antituberculous drugs. Oral treatment consisted of daily administration of rifampicin (600 mg), isoniazid (300 mg), and ethambutol (25 mg/kg body weight). Rifampicin (600 mg) was injected intratunically every 4 to 6 days.
