A 26 year-old female was admitted with abdominal pain, fever and weight loss. The clinical and laboratory investigations led to the diagnosis of paracoccidioidomycosis. Gallium-67 whole body images correlated well with the clinical course of the disease and with the patient's prognosis.

A rare case of adult intussusception caused by malignant lymphoma (ML) of the cecum was reported. In spite of the cecum lesion, strong 67Ga accumulation was located in the right epigastrium. This finding was useful in suggesting the presence of intussusception due to ML.

A glycolipid (J001X) isolated from the membrane proteoglycans of a non-pathogenic strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae was developed to bind selectively to macrophages. Eosinophilic pneumonia is usually diagnosed based on the findings on chest x-ray, white blood count, and transbronchial biopsy. After reporting a case of Ga-67 lung uptake in eosinophilic pneumonia, its histopathology is discussed and the mechanisms of Ga-67 uptake by inflammatory lesions are reviewed.

Gallium-67 citrate scans were obtained in 11 patients considered at risk for extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Radiographic and bacteriologic studies were performed routinely and tissue biopsy selectively. Of five patients with proven extrapulmonary tuberculosis, there were three with renal tuberculosis, one with Pott's disease, and one with peritoneal tuberculosis. The Ga-67 scan correctly predicted presence or absence of active extrapulmonary foci in all 11 patients. Follow-up scans correlated well with clinical response to therapy. The diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis is often overlooked

INTRODUCTION: Copper-64 (64Cu, t1/2 = 12.7 h) is a positron emitter well suited for theranostic applications with beta-emitting 67Cu for targeted molecular imaging and radionuclide therapy. The present work aims to evaluate the radionuclidic purity and radiochemistry of 64Cu produced via the 68Zn(p,nα)64Cu nuclear reaction. Macrocyclic chelators DOTA, NOTA, TETA, and prostate-specific membrane antigen ligand PSMA I&T were radiolabeled with purified 64Cu and tested for in vitro stability. AIM: The working group on positron emission tomography (PET) of the DGN (German Society of Nuclear Medicine) initiated this first survey to collect and analyse information on the practise of PET in Germany in the year 2008.
METHODS: A questionnaire was sent to PET performing facilities (medical practices, hospitals, university hospitals and others) for retrospective data acquisition. Details regarding the equipment and examination procedures were examined as well as indications and number of studies. In addition, the role of PET within the diagnostic process was evaluated.

A 70-year-old man with dysphagia since 2 months, underwent endoscopy, showing distal esophageal edema and furrows. Biopsy was negative for malignancy. F-18 FDG PET/CT showed low-grade distal esophageal uptake with mild smooth wall-thickening on CT scan.
