The case of a 5-year-old boy with ground-glass pattern craniofacial fibrous dysplasia (FD) presenting with progressive swelling in the right frontal region is reported. The imaging findings with computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings are presented. The differential diagnosis with inspissated mucocele is discussed as well. Fibrous tissue could be hypo dense on CT. Post-contrast enhancement of the lesion on MRI is the key for diagnosis.

Highly bioactive scaffolds for tissue engineering were synthesized using a glass belonging to the SiO2-CaO-K2O (SCK) system. An innovative approach of using waste glass in cement production was proposed and tested in a laboratory and cement production plant. The laboratory characterization of 32 types of glass show that the chemical composition of glass does not vary significantly with its color or origin but depends on its application. We present three cases (two incidents) of severe blast injury from the explosion of covered glass bottles containing dry ice. The first patient sustained lacerations of the face, left eye, right wrist and forearm, and abdomen with protrusion of the small bowel. The second sustained a deep laceration to her anterior neck. The third sustained multiple lacerations to her lower extremities and one to the labia majora. All three patients were taken to the operating room for surgical exploration and repair and were discharged without complications.
