This study aims to describe the clinical presentation, treatment and outcomes of cats diagnosed with spontaneous hemoperitoneum and to identify factors associated with survival to discharge. Medical records from 2005 to 2024 were searched and data was reviewed retrospectively. Clinical, diagnostic and treatment variables were evaluated for their association with survival to discharge. Eosinophilic colitis (EC) is a rare clinical entity. A 44-year-old white female developed hepatic hemorrhage due to focal hepatic necrosis. This is the only reported case of its kind we have found. No other underlying processes were identified except for the chronic use of oral conjugated estrogens. Hemoperitoneum secondary to traumatic rupture of an adrenocortical adenocarcinoma was diagnosed in a 10-year-old male dog. Immediate surgical attention was required to remove the tumor and to control hemorrhage. The dog appeared to develop transient hypoadrenocorticism after surgery, but recovered with short-term exogenous corticosteroid administration. At 6 months after surgery, the dog was clinically normal.

Two cases of haemoperitoneum due to haemorrhage and rupture of pancreatic pseudocyst in the peritoneal cavity are reported. After mentioning the exceptional nature of this complication in pancreatic pathology, the particular features of these cases are stressed, stress being laid particularly on the usefulness of echography which should be preferred to selective angiography for the usual reasons of speed of execution and harmlessness of the examination which can be carried out at the bedside if a portable echography unit is available.
