Most, but not all, V beta 8.1+ T cells respond to M1s-1 and are clonally deleted in the thymus of M1s-1-expressing animals. Murine hybridoma monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) were produced against the capsular antigens of serogroups B, C, Y, and W135 meningococci. Each serogroup-specific MAb reacted with the extracted capsular polysaccharide from its homologous serogroup only and did not react with capsules from the other three serogroups. Vaccinia virus (VACV), the vaccine for smallpox, induces an antibody response that is largely responsible for conferring protection. AIM: To prepare and identify the antibodies against snake venom C-type lectin like protein Agkisacutacin.
METHODS: A BALB/c mouse was immunized with Agkisacutacin and the cells were fused by standard hybridoma technique to prepare mAbs. The stability of the hybridomas secreting mAbs was detected by indirect ELISA. The nuclear type of the hybridomas was analyzed by fluorescent staining and the specificity of mAbs was detected by Western blot.

The Louvain rat-rat hybridoma technology was used to analyse membrane antigens present on human leukaemic lymphoblasts. Three fusions directed against non T non B leukaemic lymphoblasts finally yielded 42 distinct, stable, and specific antibody-secreting hybridomas. The cellular and molecular specificities of these monoclonal antibodies are still under investigation. However, a striking feature of our preliminary characterization is the obtention, in single fusions, of several distinct hybridomas that secrete antibodies binding to the same membrane molecule.
