Alumina-supported indium catalysts with different metal loadings were prepared by various methods including impregnation, co-precipitation and sol-gel. Activity tests were carried out on the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO by propene in excess O2 over the catalysts. A 54-yr-old woman with cutaneous nodules showed accumulation of 67Ga- and 111In-labeled leukocytes in skin nodules, bilateral pulmonary hilar lymph nodes and the right upper mediastinum. Biopsy of the skin nodule proved epithelioid cell granuloma with moderate lymphocyte infiltration peripherally consistent with sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is a potential pitfall in labeled leukocyte imaging, which is performed for detecting a febrile focus.

Forty-eight patients were scanned with 111 In-chloride in an attempt to identify the cause of fever. Fifteen true positive scans, 30 true negatives, and 3 false negatives were found. Of the 15 true positives, 7 cases of abdominal or pelvic abscess, and 8 cases of alcoholic hepatitis were detected. In an evaluation of indium-111-bleomycin as a tumor-imaging agent, 357 whole-body tumor scans were performed in 293 patients. Of 246 studies performed in patients with a variety of active solid tumors, 218 (89%) were true-positive studies and 28 (11%) were false-negative. OBJECTIVES: To describe the characteristics of incident cases and calculate the standardized incidence ratio (SIR) of kidney cancer in a multicenter cohort study.
METHODS: Baseline studies included 601 individuals across 12 factories manufacturing or recycling indium compounds between 2003 and 2006. In total, 341 individuals had undergone at least 1 follow-up health checkup by 2022. Of these, 128 individuals were examined from 2019 to 2022, with a mean follow-up duration of 17.1 years (range 13.3-18.4). The overall SIRs of kidney cancer were calculated.
