OBJECTIVE: We sought to determine whether placental cytokine expression is altered in patients with preeclampsia.
STUDY DESIGN: Whole placental tissue was collected at cesarean delivery, and total ribonucleic acid was extracted. Reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction was performed to determine cytokine expression.
