We report a 45 years old woman, bedridden due to severe bone pain, back pain, multiple spontaneous fractures over 10 years. She had low serum Phosphates. We detected a swelling in her right groin and suspected tumour induced osteomalacia. Resection of the tumour led to reversal of metabolic bone disease. Patient became ambulatory within 6 weeks of tumour resection.

PURPOSE: In this study, echogenicity and histopathological projections of parathyroid neoplasia in grey mode ultrasonography were compared with whole side imaging (WSI). The utility of the data obtained for clinical assessment was evaluated.
METHODS: In 57 patients operated for hyperparathyroidism, the parathyroid gland was sampled in the sagittal plane. The lesion slides were scanned. The WSI was rendered digital. A 34-year-old women had a hen's egg-sized supernumerary mammary gland with no nipple or areola in the left anterior axillary line for the last 8 years. The main complaint about the axillary "lump" was that it was aesthetically displeasing, and it was excised. The importance of an axillary breast lies in the possibility that pathologic changes could develop in its substance and that clinically it could be confused with a lipoma. Myxoid liposarcoma is the most common type of liposarcoma. OBJECTIVE: To describe the mortality owing to neoplasms in women of reproductive age (15 to 49 years) in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, from 1991 to 1995.
METHODS: A list of all deaths and their underlying causes, coded according to the International Classification of Diseases, 9 th revision, and estimates of the female population according to age groups were provided by the SEADE Foundation. Specific coefficients for 100 thousand women for each year as well as the medians of the coefficients related to 5 years, and the percentage of underlying causes of death by subgroups were calculated.
