METHODS: Electronic databases were searched up until 1 December 2007 for all studies investigating any candidate gene for aspirin resistance in humans. Aspirin resistance was required to have been measured by a standardized laboratory technique to be included in the analysis.

Anxiety affects over 260 million people worldwide. Benzodiazepines are a class of agents used in combination with other therapies for the management of anxiety. Lorazepam is a commonly prescribed benzodiazepine metabolized by uridine 5'-diphosphate-glucuronosyltransferases. Herein, we discuss recent findings regarding the pharmacogenetics of uridine 5'-diphosphate-glucuronosyltransferase 2B15 (UGT2B15), lorazepam, and its role in the treatment of anxiety.

INTRODUCTION: Our study is the first study, in Tunisia, to investigate the effect of SNPs in CYP3A5, CYP3A4, ABCB1, and POR genes on the response to cyclosporine (CsA).
METHODS: In a retrospective study, a total of 78 renal transplant patients receiving CsA and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) were recruited. Genotyping was performed using PROFLEX-PCR followed by RFLP.
