We considered performing living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) in a larger-size recipient. When the recipient was large-sized, or when the donor liver was severely steatotic or had a right-to-left volume discrepancy. BACKGROUND: The surgical management of carotid stenosis is effectively performed using classical and eversion endarterectomy techniques. However, a range of early and late complications, most notably perioperative stroke, can occasionally arise. We investigated endovascular treatment for 10 mm or larger aneurysms in the internal carotid artery (IC), including the cavernous portion, the paraclinoid portion, and the posterior communication artery (PC). Between 2011 and 2014 at our hospital, there were 35 cases of aneurysms that were 10 mm or larger in the carotid artery. Aneurysms of the petrous portion of the internal carotid artery are quite rare lesions. The case of a 60-year-old man who showed recurrent spontaneous otorrhagia caused by a petrous carotid aneurysm of considerable size is reported here. Mycotic origin of the lesion is presumed. Common carotid ligation was effective in resolving bleeding and did not cause any permanent neurological deficit. Other surgical procedures are acceptable.

A retrospective study was undertaken to evaluate the radiologic appearance of salpingitis isthmica nodosa (SIN) in the fallopian tubes of 150 consecutive patients having hysterosalpingograms performed almost exclusively for primary and secondary infertility. Small aortic root is a significant limitation of optimal hemodynamics for surgical aortic valve replacement due to a small annulus and application of transcatheter aortic valve replacement due to low coronary ostia and limited space at the root. We sutured a bioprosthetic valve that was up-sized by 2 to 3 valve sizes in the skirt portion of a Valsalva graft (Terumo Medical Corp) and implanted the coronary button high, close to sinotubular junction, to achieve optimal hemodynamics and prepare patients for future transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
