Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) has been extensively studied and repurposed for diverse practical applications, such as optical measurement and sensing, and microwave photonics filter. Using a novel approach, we have analyzed 30 parameters characterizing detailed spectrum and fractional content of LPs in plasma of patients with tick-borne encephalitis (TBE). The blood plasma of all TBE patients (30 patients), as compared with that of healthy individuals (120 patients), is characterized by decreased concentrations of many LP subfractions and of the total concentration of all plasma LPs (hypolipoproteinemia). Significant discrepancies between theory and experiment have previously been noted for nucleon emission via electromagnetic processes in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions. The present work investigates the hypothesis that these discrepancies have arisen due to uncertainties about how to deduce the experimental electromagnetic cross section from the total measured cross section. A method for betulinic acid synthesis from betulin was developed. Betulin was oxidized with chromium oxide (VI) into betulonic acid, which was reduced with sodium borohydride to yield a mixture of 3-hydroxy epimers containing 85% of the natural beta-epimer.
