Placement of foreign bodies within the urethra has intrigued urologists for years. We present the case of a 30-year-old man who had self-inserted 6 kidney beans into his urethra for sexual pleasure. Conservative attempts at removal with bedside interventions were unsuccessful. The patient required operative intervention with cystoscopy and urethral foreign body retrieval. No additional trauma was appreciated and all beans were extracted. The kinesin family member 5A (KIF5A) motor domain variants are typically associated with hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) or Charcot-Marie-Tooth 2 (CMT2), while KIF5A tail variants predispose to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and neonatal intractable myoclonus. Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by an absent or ectopic posterior pituitary, interrupted pituitary stalk and anterior pituitary hypoplasia, as well as in some cases, a range of heterogeneous somatic anomalies. BACKGROUND: Lesions associated with a thickened pituitary stalk (TPS lesions) revealed by magnetic resonance imaging have a diverse pathology. Accordingly, for clinical decision-making, it is necessary to make a diagnosis based on histopathological examination of the TPS lesions. We report the case of a 26-month-old boy with mental retardation, facial dysmorphism, childhood feeding difficulties, short stature, bilateral cryptorchidism, micropenis, and heart defect. Endocrinal evaluation revealed complete growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and gonadotropic deficiency, and pituitary magnetic resonance imaging showed partial pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS). A de novo 493 kb microdeletion on chromosome 17q21.31 was identified using array comparative genomic hybridization (array-CGH) analysis. This is the first report of PSIS in the phenotypical spectrum of 17q21.

We describe a case of body stalk anomaly which was diagnosed at 10 weeks of gestation on a dating scan. The fetus was visualized within the exocelomic cavity outside an apparently intact amniotic membrane. The authors report a case of severe growth retardation in a 4 year-old boy. A microphallus and ectopic testis located at the inguinal point were present in the neonatal period. BACKGROUND: Spinal dermal sinuses consist of an epithelium-lined tract extending from the skin towards the spinal cord, often resulting in infections or tethered cord syndrome. Recently, a variant called dermal sinus-like stalk was described as an analogous tract but not containing an epithelium-lined lumen.
