Organic-inorganic halocuprates based on monovalent copper are promising luminescent compounds for optoelectronic applications; however, their relaxation processes in the excited electronic state are severely underexplored. In this contribution, we prepare thin films of bis(tetraethylammonium) di-µ-bromo-dibromodicuprate(I) [N(C2H5)4]2[Cu2Br4], abbreviated (TEA)2Cu2Br4, which features a "molecular salt" structure containing discrete [Cu2Br4]2- anions. Previous studies have demonstrated that N-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)succinimide (NDCPS) is the most nephrotoxic compound among the N-(mono- or dichlorophenyl)succinimides. The agricultural fungicide, N-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)succinimide (NDPS) induces acute polyuric renal failure which is attenuated by pretreatment with the glutathione depletors, diethyl maleate or buthionine sulfoximine (BSO). Outward currents were recorded from voltage-clamped NG108-15 mouse neuroblastoma X rat glioma hybrid cells, differentiated with prostaglandin E1. Depolarising voltage steps from -70 mV, evoked a transient outward current from a threshold of -30 mV. The outward current showed complete inactivation at potentials positive to -10 mV. Beating neuron V8, whose activity is abolished upon interneuronal stimulation, has been found and identified in the CNS of the snail, Helix pomatia. Type-I cells (from rabbit embryos) in primary culture were studied in voltage-clamp experiments using the whole cell arrangement of the patch-clamp technique.
