OBJECTIVE: To establish a consensus-based foundation for Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in urology by identifying core urology EPAs - activities that all residents should be able to perform independently upon graduation. EPAs are a competency-based assessment framework designed help graduate medical training programs assess trainee readiness for independent practice. Although several specialties have formally incorporated EPAs into their training and certification frameworks, adoption within urology has been limited.

Since 1996 the authors have examined and treated 42 infertile married couples (the husbands had azoospermia). To obtain spermatozoa directly from the testes or epididymis and subsequent ICSI, 42 patients underwent 53 interventions: TESE (n = 38), PESA (n = 10), MESA (n = 5). The authors summarise the short history of the laparoscopy, and main steps of its use in international and Hungarian practice of urological surgery. They evaluate the possibility of laparoscopy in paediatric urological practice. Finally, they present their experience with this minimally invasive technique from 1995.
