OBJECTIVE: To report ocular examination findings before and after total ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy (TECALBO) and ventral bulla osteotomy (VBO) in cats and dogs.
METHODS: At The Ohio State University and MedVet Columbus, ophthalmic examinations were performed on client-owned animals for which a TECALBO or VBO was indicated. BACKGROUND: Ocular toxoplasmosis (OT) is the most common cause of infectious uveitis worldwide, including Thailand. This study describes the clinical presentation, visual acuity (VA) outcomes, and factors associated with VA loss in patients with active OT following antiparasitic treatment.
METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: A retrospective chart review of patients with active OT treated with antiparasitic drugs between 2010 and 2020 was performed. Outcome measures included clinical characteristics, interval VA, and predictive factors associated with loss of VA ≤ 20/50 at 6 months post-treatment.

BACKGROUND: This research examined the effect of autologous serum eye drops (ASED) on ocular symptoms, visual-related functioning and quality of life for patients failing other therapies.
METHODS: Patients (N = 77) were asked to complete a survey prior to ASED use, and 2 and 12 months post-treatment.
RESULTS: Significant improvements in symptom frequency and severity were documented for dryness, ocular pain and grittiness at 2 and 12 months. Patients felt more in control and required less help from others at 12 months.

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether patients receiving observation vs surgery for subfoveal choroidal neovascularization that was idiopathic or associated with histoplasmosis differed in preference values assigned to their health and vision status.
METHODS: Before and after enrollment, patients rated their current vision on a scale from 0 (blind) to 100 (perfect vision) and rated blindness and perfect vision on a scale from 0 (dead) to 100 (perfect health and vision).
