Our study assessed the effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) expressing inducible hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) on the recovery of femoral head necrosis (FHN). BACKGROUND: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common adult leukemia in western civilization. The accumulation of CD5+CD19+ B lymphocytes in peripheral blood is due to a defect in the apoptotic pathway rather than excessive proliferation in the bone marrow and lymph nodes. Despite a number of treatments, CLL remains an incurable disease. Hepatitis E is an increasingly reported disease in industrialized countries. Studies on the replication cycle of hepatitis E virus (HEV) are hampered due to the lack of efficient and robust cell culture systems for this virus. We describe the successful isolation of HEV derived from a chronically infected kidney transplant patient held under immunosuppressive therapy. BACKGROUND: In specialized cells, such as mast cells, macrophages, T lymphocytes and Natural Killer cells in the immune system and for instance melanocytes in the skin, secretory lysosomes (SL) have evolved as bifunctional organelles that combine degradative and secretory properties. Mutations in lysosomal storage, transport or sorting molecules are associated with severe immunodeficiencies, autoimmunity and (partial) albinism. Quantitation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) can provide information on the stage of a malignancy, onset of disease progression and response to therapy.
