Hydrogen-bond rearrangement and Raman spectral responses of glycerol-water clusters under continuum dielectric environments: A DFT and IRI analysis.

The structural and vibrational responses of glycerol-water clusters are closely associated with their local hydrogen-bonding environments. In this work, glycerol-water clusters with 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 cluster compositions were investigated using density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-311 + G(d,p) level combined with the integral equation formalism polarizable continuum model (IEFPCM). Four continuum dielectric environments with ε = 24.852, 32.613, 35.688, and 46.826 were considered while keeping the explicit glycerol-water compositions unchanged. Optimized structural parameters, simulated Ram

Identification of blood biomarkers of a healthy dietary pattern as facilitated by cluster analysis in patients from the MEDDINI study: a pilot randomised trial.

Dietary biomarkers may help objectively assessing dietary pattern adherence. This study performed K-means clustering analysis on quantitative food diary data from a dietary intervention study. Standardised dietary data (134 food diaries) from 57 participants were K-means clustered stepwise until fully optimised and cross-validated. The primary endpoint was to develop distinct dietary clusters and to evaluate the performanceof 90 plasma metabolites. The secondary endpoint was to analyse the biomarker-food groups relationships from those distinct dietary patterns. The final two cluster models co

Analysis of FR901379 Biosynthetic Genes in Coleophoma empetri by Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats/Cas9-Based Genomic Manipulation.

The compound FR901379, a sulfated echinocandin produced by the filamentous fungus Coleophoma empetri F-11899, is an important intermediate for the synthesis of the antifungal drug micafungin. In this study, we established an efficient clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/Cas9-based gene editing tool for the industrial production strain C. empetri SIPI1284. With this method, the efficiency of gene mutagenesis in the target locus is up to 84%, which enables the rapid gene disruption for the analysis of FR901379 biosynthetic genes. Next, we verified the putative functional ge

Stability, spectroscopic, electrochemistry and QTAIM analysis of Cu-Znn-1On clusters for glucose sensing application: A study on theoretical and experimental insights.

Clusters of (ZnO)n (n = 2-4) have been shown to play a central role in the detection of glucose entity based on the existence of photo-induced electrons (PE), which facilitates the interaction between (ZnO)n clusters and glucose entity guests. The electrochemistry experiment has confirmed the detection of glucose by the title clusters. The optimization, energetic parameters, and vibrational frequency calculations have indicated that the Cu-Znn-1On-glucose are more stable than the (ZnO)n-glucose complexes. It has been demonstrated that the Cu doping enhanced the chemical behavior of the cluster

Bivariate genome-wide association analysis strengthens the role of bitter receptor clusters on chromosomes 7 and 12 in human bitter taste.

BACKGROUND: Human perception of bitter substances is partially genetically determined. Previously we discovered a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) within the cluster of bitter taste receptor genes on chromosome 12 that accounts for 5.8% of the variance in the perceived intensity rating of quinine, and we strengthened the classic association between TAS2R38 genotype and the bitterness of propylthiouracil (PROP). Here we performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) using a 40% larger sample (n = 1999) together with a bivariate approach to detect previously unidentified common variants wi
