After reviewing prevalence rates, this work tries to identify gender specific groups in which weapon-carrying occurs in the context of victim and offender related violent behaviours. k-Means cluster and logistic regression analyses were calculated, based on a cross-sectional survey of a national representative sample of 1549 15-year-olds as part of the Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children (HBSC) international collaborative study. We present 2 cases of craniocerebral injuries in children caused by rubber bullets. The potential severity of these projectiles is discussed. The first case was an eleven-year-old boy who died a few days after having been injured by a rubber bullet during a riot. He presented with a bi-hemispheric fronto-parietal craniocerebral injury with massive intraventricular hemorrhage. Although bean bag guns are considered a "less-lethal" form of law enforcement, these blunt projectiles have risk. The purpose of this study was to perform a literature review of morbidity and mortality associated with less-lethal munitions and present a case report of a bean bag injury leading to a traumatic globe evisceration and skull base fracture. Patients presenting with bean bag gun associated injuries warrant a high clinical suspicion for injury to deeper structures.

This study provides 10-year trend data on the psychosocial correlates of physical dating violence victimization (PDV) among male participants (N = 7,949 in 2009) in the national Youth Risk Behavior Surveys from 1999-2009. OBJECTIVES: To review the injuries resulting from the attenuated energy projectile (AEP) in patients who present to emergency departments.
METHOD: Review of case notes of patients presenting with injuries caused by the AEP after three episodes of serious civil disturbance in Northern Ireland from July to September 2005.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the EMS response to a large-scale shooting incident involving military-style weapons.
METHODS: Descriptive review.
RESULTS: Twenty ambulances, nine engine companies, and three helicopters responded to this incident. Ten police officers and nine civilians were wounded, all of whom required transport to nearby hospitals. Two gunmen were shot and pronounced dead at the scene. No EMS personnel were injured.
