Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common genetic disease in Caucasians. CF is manifested by abnormal accumulation of mucus in the lungs, which serves as fertile ground for the growth of microorganisms leading to recurrent infections and ultimately, lung failure. The contribution of nasal secretory cells to mucus hypersecretion in chronic sinusitis was investigated. BACKGROUND: Dry eye disease is one of the most commonly encountered conditions in eye care, and inflammation is a frequent finding. Ciclosporin has long been used systemically to decrease the deleterious effects of inflammation. Ciclosporin is a calcineurin inhibitor that acts by primarily blocking the action of T cells, decreasing the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and preventing the apoptosis of goblet cells.

The Authors describe a very rare congenital case of bronchogenic subcutaneous cyst of the scapular region occurring in a 8-year-old girl. Only 8 other cases have been published so far. The cyst was asymptomatic and was surgically removed. It measured 2.3 cm. in diameter.
