It usually occurs on the right side and cases on the left side without accompanying conditions such as situs inversus or double inferior vena cava (IVC) are uncommon. OBJECTIVE: Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) is a rare disease characterized by the presence of fibroinflammatory tissue that surrounds the abdominal aorta and the iliac arteries and often entraps the ureters.
