Telocytes (TCs) are stromal cells with telopodes, which represent long, thin, moniliform cell processes; however, this morphological feature alone is insufficient to define a cell type. Specific markers of lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs), such as Prox-1, podoplanin (D2-40) or LYVE-1, are not usually tested in TCs. BACKGROUND: Primary lymphoedema (LE) is the consequence of lymphatic insufficiency, usually associated with hypoplasia of the lymph vessels and/or nodes. Lymphoscintigraphy allows early diagnosis.
OBJECTIVES: To assess the frequency of contralateral LE by lymphoscintigraphy in children with unilateral primary LE of one limb; to assess facets of clinical bilateralization of LE.
METHODS: This retrospective single-centre study included children with unilateral LE followed up at the Tours university hospital centre between 2004 and 2014. Parents were contacted by phone to obtain follow-up data.

Gorham-Stout disease is a rare disease of unknown etiology. It is characterized by spontaneous excessive replacement of bone by proliferative non-neoplastic thin-walled lymphatic and/or blood vessels. 307 patients with complete resection for non-small cell lung cancer between 1989 and 1996 were examined to evaluate the clinical features of local recurrence. Postoperative recurrence was observed in 104 of the 307 patients.
