[Sensitivity of Pseudomonas chlororaphis to antibiotics and chemical tools of plant protection].

Examination of sensitivity of 10 Pseudomonas chlororaphis strains belonging to different subspecies to 54 antibiotics has shown that all studied representatives of Pchlororaphis subsp. chlororaphis, P. chlororaphis subsp. aureofaciens and Pchlororaphis subsp. aurantiaca were sensitive to aminoglycoside antibiotics and fluoroquinolones derivatives. Only part of studied strains has shown sensitivity to some beta-lactam antibiotics, imipeneme and meropeneme. In contrast to representatives of two other subspecies both strains of P. chlororaphis subsp. chlororaphis proved to be sensitive to chlorte

Black Soldier Fly Gut Microbiota as a Green Alternative to Chemical Fungicides: Broad-Spectrum Biocontrol and Implications for Reducing Fungicide Environmental Loading.

Plant diseases cause 20%-40% of global crop losses, a problem traditionally managed by chemical fungicides whose extensive use leads to widespread environmental contamination and potential human health risks. This underscores an urgent need for sustainable, low-environmental-impact alternatives. Black soldier fly (BSF)-mediated bioconversion of organic wastes offers a circular economy solution, producing frass with reported plant disease suppression potential; however, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unexplored. Here, we demonstrate that BSF frass exhibits in vitro broad-spectrum anti

Inferring the perennial biomass and phytoremediation potential of thirty-one woody species from large phytomanagement field trials.

Growing woody biomass on trace element-contaminated marginal lands is a promising phytomanagement strategy, provided that species combine high productivity with appropriate contaminant accumulation profiles. In this study, we evaluated the five-year field performance and phytomanagement potential of 31 woody species established at three French trace element-contaminated sites differing in soil properties and contamination histories: Thann, Carrières-sous-Poissy, and Leforest. Above- and belowground fresh biomasses were quantified, rhizospheric soil pH and CaCl2-extractable elements were measur

Phosphorus mining and bioavailability for plant acquisition: environmental sustainability perspectives.

This review aims to examine microbial mechanisms for phosphorus (P) solubilization, assess the impacts of P mining and scarcity, and advocate for sustainable recycling strategies to enhance agricultural and environmental resilience. Phosphorus is an indispensable macronutrient for plant growth and agricultural productivity, yet its bioavailability in cultivation systems is often constrained. This scarcity has led to a heavy reliance on fertilizers derived from mined phosphate rock (PR), which is a finite resource usually contaminated with hazardous elements such as uranium, radium, and thorium

Nitric oxide acts as an inducer of Strategy-I responses to increase Fe availability and mobilization in Fe-starved broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. oleracea).

Iron (Fe) deficiency causes reduced growth and yield in broccoli. This study elucidates how sodium nitroprusside (SNP), known as nitric oxide (NO) donor, mitigates the retardation caused by Fe deficiency in broccoli. The SNP caused substantial nitric oxide accumulation in the roots of Fe-deficient plants, which resulted in a significant improvement in chlorophyll levels, photosynthetic efficiency, and morphological growth parameters, showing that it has a favorable influence on recovering broccoli health. Ferric reductase activity and the expression of BoFRO1 (ferric chelate reductase) gene in
