Selection of fertile sires is crucial for profitable lamb production. Males with larger testes tend to sire daughters that reach puberty at an earlier age and ovulate more ova during each oestrus period. Measurement of the scrotal circumference (SC) is thus an essential part of the breeding soundness evaluation. Testicular size varies with breed, age and time of the year. No SC values or recommendations for minimal values have been established in any of the Scandinavian domestic sheep breeds. Brahman breed bulls (Bos indicus) are widely used to introduce environmental resistance traits into meat-producing herds. Delayed puberty is a frequently encountered problem causing much anxiety to patient and parents alike. Proper understanding of the normal pubertal events and its variation sets off the background to understand disorders leading to delayed puberty. An orderly clinical approach combined with continued observation helps to arrive at a final diagnosis in most of the patients. The treatment modalities available, even if not curative, can achieve the goals of management set off at the end of evaluation of the patient.

In humans the hepatosplenic form of schistosomiasis may be associated with some degree of somatosexual underdevelopment. In the present study we induced an experimental hepatosplenic form of schistosomiasis by infecting 21-day-old mice with the São Lourenço da Mata-PE strain of Schistosoma mansoni and evaluated thyroid function and its relationship with somatosexual development. An attempt to create experimental endometriosis in the rabbit by the usual technique was tried on eight animals. It was disappointing. A new technique which is easier to carry out implanting endometrium was suggested. The results were evaluated in 57 animals. The technique proved to be easier and more reliable. The technique cannot be used unless the animal has been through puberty.

We have previously shown that the human vas deferens does not change in cross-sectional size between birth and the middle of puberty.
