UNLABELLED: Iodine-123-BMIPP is an iodinated methyl-branched-chain fatty acid. Low uptake of BMIPP relative to thallium or other perfusion tracer indicates metabolically damaged but viable myocardium (for example, ischemic but viable myocardium).
