Complete duplication of the bladder and urethra is a rare entity. It may occur in the coronal and sagittal planes, and is often associated with other organ system anomalies, in particular of the gastrointestinal tract. We report an unusual variant of sagittal duplication of the bladder, in a male, associated with rudimentary hindgut duplication, and review the literature pertaining to this unusual anomaly.

Duplication of the bladder is an unusual congenital anomaly. Complete and incomplete forms are well defined in published reports. OBJECTIVE: To present a technique for repair of distal hypospadias.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Sixteen children (average age 6.6 years) were treated between January 1985 and January 1991. The procedure is described.
RESULTS: One child developed a mild meatal stenosis and another had a small urethral fistula; both responded to treatment. Results were excellent in the remaining 14 patients.
CONCLUSION: This simple operative procedure was successful in the majority of patients and there were only two minor complications.

We report the case of an 88-year-old man with suspected biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer, in whom 18 F-fluciclovine PET/CT was performed in the context of rising prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels. Incidental identification of penile urethral activity was observed. A subsequent urethral biopsy revealed a treatment-related, poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma of prostatic origin, with metastasis to the penile urethra.

PURPOSE: Traumatic bladder neck lacerations extending into the urethra are devastating injuries that occur more commonly in children than in adults. It is unclear whether immediate repair of these injuries decreases long-term complications, such as urinary incontinence. We report our long-term results with immediate operative repair of these injuries.
