PURPOSE: Suprachoroidal hemorrhage (SCH) is a rare but vision-threatening complication in patients with keratoprosthesis devices (KPro), particularly in the setting of concurrent glaucoma tube shunts. Although there are many approaches to draining an SCH, surgery can be especially challenging in these patients because a crowded anterior chamber, and frequent anterior extension of the SCH.
METHODS: A case report is discussed.
RESULTS: We describe a novel approach to surgical drainage of SCH in a 64-year-old monocular patient with a Type I Boston KPro, an Ahmed valve, and aphakia.

Scleral fixated intraocular lens (SFIOL) is a safe and effective option for managing optical aphakia. Suture related complications like suture erosion, suture breakage, endophthalmitis, etc. are unique to SFIOL. The knots can be covered by partial thickness flaps or they can be rotated into scleral tissues without flaps to reduce the complications. We describe a modified technique for performing Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) in a patient with aphakia and vitrectomized eye. A 72-year-old woman presented with corneal decompensation after a complicated cataract surgery and a subsequent vitreoretinal procedure. PURPOSE: To report a case of indirect trauma causing dislocation of the crystalline lens in a patient with no underlying risk factors.
METHODS: Case report.
RESULTS: A 76-year-old woman fell injuring her right temple area. She complained of blurring of vision in her right eye. Her vision was reduced to 6/60. Ocular examination revealed right aphakia associated with complete posterior dislocation of the crystalline lens into the vitreous cavity. A rare complication of extracapsular cataract extraction is hypotony due to capsular shrinkage, with consequent ciliary body detachment. A classic hypotony syndrome with progressive loss of visual acuity was observed in two patients, one with extracapsular aphakia and one with extracapsular pseudophakia. After the first description of epikeratoplasty for the correction of aphakia by Kaufman in 1980, the application of epikeratoplasty has been extended further to the treatment of keratoconus and high myopia. Although cataract surgery is feasible in children with unilateral cataracts, visual rehabilitation depends on optical correction and conscientiously maintained amblyopia therapy. Fifty patients with aphakia and strabismus were studied. The chief complaint was diplopia following full optical correction. Primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment is probably much less common in blacks than whites. We reviewed 100 consecutive black patients with retinal detachment who were seen over a 3 year period, and compared them to a randomly selected group of 100 whites seen during the same period. Trauma was the most common cause of detachment in blacks (52%), but was a relatively uncommon cause in whites (12%).
