The first aim of the study was to assess the success rate of vaginal delivery after a trial of labour in women with history of caesarean del … disproportion based on X-ray pelvimetry. OBJECTIVE: To compare maternal and neonatal outcomes by mode of delivery in preterm births.
MATERIAL AND METHOD: This prospective study was a part of SEA-ORCHID project of 9,263 pregnant women. The subjects were all women admitted for preterm birth (20 to 36 weeks) in nine hospitals in four Southeast Asian countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines) between June 2007 and December 2009. Deliveries were classified into vaginal delivery and caesarean delivery. We obtained data from women's medical and delivery records.

PURPOSE: To determine whether posterior pituitary ectopia in children with optic nerve hypoplasia has a male predominance or an increased incidence of breech delivery.
METHOD: Retrospective analysis of 12 children with optic nerve hypoplasia and posterior pituitary ectopia.
RESULTS: Eleven of 12 patients with posterior pituitary ectopia were boys. No child had a history of breech delivery. Two children had a history of breech positioning but were delivered by cesarean section.

The Authors examined 2.382 babies who were between 4 and 6 weeks old using the seven postural reactions proposed by Vojta for neuromotor screening. They followed the progress of 2.295 (96,35%) babies up to the age of 1 year. 100% of the babies judged to be normal after the first visit were normal after a year. The Authors describe the evolution of the babies who were abnormal at the first visit, and clarify the results obtained with early physiotherapeutic treatment.

Consequences of nonintervention in the management of prematurely ruptured membranes prior to term were assessed in 143 maternal charts and 145 corresponding infant records during a 2-year period. Patients were hospitalized at bed rest and were not given tocolytics or steroids. Antibiotics were used only when clinical examination indicated infection. Labor was induced in 13 patients. A retrospective study was made of 356 infants who weighed less than 2,001 grams. One hundred thirty-three babies were delivered after premature rupture of the membranes. Nonaggressive management was utilized in uncomplicated situations. Vaginal examination was prohibited. Delivery was accomplished only for infection, abnormal presentation, bleeding, labor, or maternal complications. Corticosteroids were not used. There was significantly better survival of babies who weighed 500 to 1,200 grams than of the control infants. Babies who weighed 1,201 to 2,000 grams showed no significant difference.
