OBJECTIVES: To describe the association between endodontic treatment failure and medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) in a cohort of oncologic patients in therapy with antiresorptive and antiangiogenic drugs.

BACKROUND: Osteogenesis imperfecta(OI) is a frequent bone fragility disorder in children. The purpose of this study was to assess the BMD and Vitamin D level in children with OI in southern Iran.
METHOD: This case-control study was conducted on 23 children, clinically diagnosed as osteogenesis imperfecta and 23 age- and gender-matched healthy controls. Demographic and anthropometric data, biochemical parameters, puberty, sun exposure and physical activity were assessed. Bone mineral density (BMD) was measured by Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Data analysis was done by SPSS22.

With the progress and development of society, osteonecrosis of the jaw has appeared some new features and new problems in oral clinical work. Most jaw lesions are treated surgically. Areas of abnormal proliferation or destruction in bone are commonly treated by regional curettage, excision, or resection. However, surgery is invasive and leaves a defect where the lesion was removed. Surgical trauma to adjacent healthy tissue, including vital neurovascular bundles is often unavoidable, and can be especially traumatizing to the pediatric patient. Select jaw lesions with well-studied nonsurgical pharmaceutical treatments are presented here.
