The effect of drugs upon the inflammatory responses occurring after injection of 1 microgram platelet activating factor into the foot-pad and pleural cavity of the rat were investigated. Deuruxolitinib (LEQSELVI), a deuterated analogue of the Janus kinase (JAK) 1/2 inhibitor ruxolitinib, is being developed by Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries for the treatment of alopecia areata. In July 2024, deuruxolitinib received its first global approval for the treatment of severe alopecia areata in adults in the USA. Additionally, in March 2026, deuruxolitinib received approval in the same indication in the UK. In September 2023, the US Food and Drug Administration approved momelotinib for the treatment of myelofibrosis (MF) with anemia, marking the fourth US regulatory approval of a Janus kinase inhibitor for MF. A positive opinion from the European Medicines Agency followed in November 2023. Chronic atypical neutrophilic dermatosis with lipodystrophy and elevated temperature (CANDLE) or proteasome-associated autoinflammatory syndrome is a rare autoinflammatory disorder that typically presents in infancy with characteristic symptoms, including recurrent fever, panniculitis, and progressive lipodystrophy, among other findings.
