BACKGROUND/AIMS: Angle fractures represent the largest percentage of mandibular fractures. They pose as a unique entity because of their codependent morphological dynamic factors, rendering the understanding of the mechanism, and treatment challenging. Dental injuries are common following facial trauma. This article presents a rare injury: the dislocation of a third molar into the maxillary sinus after complex mandibular and maxillary tuberosity fractures. The possible mechanism and clinical treatment are discussed.

Rostral mandibular injuries present unique challenges for repair. The presence of strategically important teeth which occupy a large volume of the mandible, multiple tooth roots and the mental neurovascular bundle all combine to limit treatment options that serve to preserve the form and function of the involved structures. This case series describes the approach to treatment for rostral mandibular trauma seen in four dogs with a unique etiology that has not been previously described.

A case of tuberous sclerosis (TS) with classic triad of seizures, mental deficiency and angiofibromas is presented. The child also presented with self-mutilating behavior, which resulted in the fracture of her anterior teeth. A comprehensive treatment was rendered to the patient under general anesthesia and a mouth guard was given to prevent further trauma to the teeth.

This paper describes the utility of three-dimensional (3D) images obtained with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for prediction of successful clinical outcome in two cases of intentional tooth replantation (IR). IR was performed for teeth affected by vertical root fracture and root perforation with local application of blood clot and oxy-tetracycline antibiotic.
