PURPOSE: The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical outcome of closed/open reduction and titanium elastic nails (TENs) in children with severely displaced proximal humeral fractures.

BAV disease is not only a disorder of valvulogenesis, but also represents a genetic disorder of aorta and cardiac development. We present the results of 90 consecutive children with displaced fractures of the forearm treated by elastic stable intramedullary nailing with a mean follow-up of 6.6 months (2.0 to 17.6). Eight (9%) had open fractures and 77 (86%) had sustained a fracture of both bones. The operations were performed by orthopaedic trainees in 78 patients (86%). OBJECTIVE: The aim of this work was to develop an elastic vesicular formulation to enhance the skin permeation of a poorly water-soluble 18β-glycyrrhetic acid (GA) and treat dermatitis.
METHODS: Elastic vesicles of GA were prepared by the film method with high pressure homogenizer and characterized by storage stability. In vitro permeation studies were carried on rat skin using Franz diffusion cell. In vivo skin deposition of GA was studied using HPLC assay. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the functional and radiographic outcomes of pre-bent elastic stable intramedullary nail in treatment of distal radial shaft fractures in children.
METHODS: From January 2006 to December 2008, 18 children with distal radial shaft fracture were treated by close reduction and internal fixation with a pre-bent elastic stable intramedullary nail.
