The paper is to report the establishment of three methods for determination of methyl salicylate-2-O-beta-D-galactopyranoside (1-4)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (MSG) by HPLC, UV or potentiometric titration. The results determined by the three methods turned out to be of no significant difference (P>0.05). The method was chosen according to MSG difference test demands.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this population analysis was to characterize the pharmacokinetic properties of robenacoxib in blood and stifle joint synovial fluid of dogs.
METHODS: Data were obtained from two studies: 1) 8 healthy Beagle dogs in which an acute inflammation was induced by injection of urate crystals into one joint; 2) 95 dogs from various breeds diagnosed with osteoarthritis (OA). Robenacoxib concentrations in blood and synovial fluid were measured using a validated HPLC-UV and LC-MS method. Non-linear mixed effects modeling was performed using NONMEM6.

A new fluorescent sensor 1, based on the naphthalimide chromophore and thioether-rich crown receptor, exhibited dual signaling behaviors for Hg(2+) and Ag(+) in aqueous solution. Upon addition of Hg(2+), the fluorescence intensity enhanced in a linear fashion with a quantum yield increase of about 5-fold. Moreover, with the 1-Hg(2+) complex, Ag(+) was easily recognized by a marked fluorescence quenching. The living cells image experiments demonstrate the value of sensor 1 in fluorescent visualization of Hg(2+) ions in biological systems.

Nanocrystals of tin oxide were formed in e-beam evaporated films by swift heavy ion (SHI) irradiation. The nucleation of nanocrystals occurred due to electronic excitation by swift heavy ion. Nanophase thin films are characterized systematically by HRTEM, GAXRD, EDX, and UV/NIS absorption techniques. Nanocrystals having size of 8 nm radius are synthesized in different substrates during swift heavy ion irradiation and without subsequent annealing. SHI induced nanocrystallization could be achieved in both crystalline and non-crystalline substrates.
