A 67-year-old patient developed a subcutaneous, non-tender nodule in her left groin over a period of about seven years. The patient underwent surgery and 4 procedures were required to obtain complete excision. The histopathologic findings showed eccrine adenocarcinoma, a member of the heterogeneous group of sweat gland tumors which occur primarily in adults with a peak of 50-60 years of age. The age and seasonal incidence of 2610 patients with pityriasis versicolor in Greece were studied. Determination of the pH of Na and K ions of the sweat and the microbiol flora of the skin of pityriasis versicolor patients was undertaken. An observed clinical side effect of total skin surface electron beam therapy is the patient's inability to perspire. An evaluation of eccrine sweat gland function was performed, utilizing acetylcholine chloride and a silicone impression material. The patient's inability to sweat after therapy, and recovery within a three- to six-month period after therapy was demonstrated. This phenomenon should be appreciated by both the physician and the patient prior to electron beam therapy in order to avoid the potential complications of this condition.

Two cases of eccrine tumour of sweat gland origin found in the hand are presented. They were non-tender rounded masses of eight months to two years duration, beneath and adherent to the epidermis but movable on underlying tissue. The pre-operative diagnosis in each case was that of a sebaceous cyst. Histology revealed one to be an eccrine spiradenoma and the other a chondroid syringoma. The lesions were considered unusual in that such tumours usually occur on the trunk, head and back and are rarely found in the hand.

Adenolipoma of the skin is a rare variant of lipoma not yet reported to involve the external female genitalia. We report, for the first time, 2 cases of adenolipoma arising in or immediately adjacent to the vulva in women aged 41 and 44 years. They are characterized by sparse mammaglobin immunoreactive eccrine sweat glands embedded within lobules of mature adipose tissue. This report brings attention to this novel soft tissue tumor in a site where fat and sweat glands are normal tissue constituents.
