BACKGROUND: Migration significantly influences the health of asylum seekers and refugees, as it heightens vulnerabilities and poor health. Health systems struggle with providing specific care to these populations due to specific health needs compounded by language, cultural and literacy barriers. Primary care offers critical opportunities for healthcare providers to address specific health inequities that asylum seekers and refugees face. Understanding provider experiences is essential to determine how health systems support their staff, caring for asylum seeking and refugee populations.

INTRODUCTION: Preterm births are a leading cause of death and illness, with rates rising in Uganda. CPAP helps with respiratory problems, and kangaroo mother care (KMC) stabilises temperature, encourages bonding, and supports health. Yet, KMC for preterm infants on CPAP is rarely used in countries like Uganda. This study explores challenges and enablers for KMC in these cases.
METHODS: The study used a cross-sectional design with qualitative methods at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya. NICU healthcare workers were conveniently sampled and interviewed until saturation. Data was transcribed, coded,

Wearable technology to augment traditional approaches are increasingly being added to the arsenals of treatment providers. Wearable technology generally refers to electronic systems, devices, or sensors that are usually worn on or are in close proximity to the human body. Wearables may be stand-alone or integrated into materials that are worn on the body. What sets medical wearables apart from other systems is their ability to collect, store, and relay information regarding an individual's current body status to other devices operating on compatible networks in naturalistic settings. The last

BACKGROUND: HIV treatment prescription is a complex process. Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) are a category of health information technologies that can assist clinicians to choose optimal treatments based on clinical trials and expert knowledge. The usability of some CDSSs for HIV treatment would be significantly improved by using the knowledge obtained by treating other patients. This knowledge, however, is mainly contained in patient records, whose usage is restricted due to privacy and confidentiality constraints.
METHODS: A treatment effectiveness measure, containing valuable inf

Electronic health records (EHRs) are integral to modern hospital systems, especially in India's rapidly digitizing healthcare landscape. EHRs connect hospital records through shared networks, enabling quick and accurate data sharing. However, these systems are targeted by attackers as they store large volumes of sensitive patient information. Thus, this research proposed a secure EHR framework named the sequential belief neural network (SeqBNNet). The SeqBNNet integrates deep belief networks (DBN) with sequential convolutional neural networks (SCNN) to encrypt EHRs. The images are split into N

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly influencing clinical care and research in osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. For patients, AI can broaden access to health information, including understanding of disease and treatment options. For clinicians, AI-based systems may assist risk stratification and decision-making, including identifying individuals most likely to benefit from specific therapies. In medical imaging, AI approaches can grade osteoarthritis severity, identify occult pathology (including atypical femoral fractures), and estimate low bone mineral density from non-dedicated exam
